On dreams & things (poem)

A store in Wake Forest

a store in Beau town

a refreshing presence

a unique joyful sound.

A thought of ministry

to give not receive

to be myself and shine brightly

to share with great ease.

To write in my book nook

to sip and think deep,

to work out my tangles

while babies do sleep.

To bake bread in mornings

to have hens that lay

to take our kids with us

during rest work and play.

We’re building a good thing,

a strong thing to last

I do and I don’t have what it takes,

either way, time will pass.

Breath of life fill my goings

use me if you will,

we’ll laugh and you’ll carry me

we’ll feast til our fill.
